Frequently asked questions
What is Introduction to AIM?
Introduction to Accelerating Implementation Methodology (AIM) is the foundation course for AIM, the change management system developed by Don Harrison, founder of IMA Worldwide. You will learn the core principles and how to start applying AIM to a real initiative you support.
Who is the course for?
This course is designed for project and program leaders, internal change agents and practitioners, and leaders and sponsors who need a clear, shared approach for making change stick.
Do I need prior change management experience?
No. There are no prerequisites. This is the on-ramp to AIM and the starting point for learners who plan to continue toward the AIM Practitioner Certification.
How is the course structured?
The course follows a three-session arc: Getting Started, Understanding AIM, The Need for Change, Managing Change with AIM, and Evaluating Impact.
What will I actually learn?
You will learn the three core principles of AIM: Leadership Involvement, Target Readiness, and Reinforcement Strategy, along with how to apply them to decisions you have to make in an active change effort.
When does the course run?
The schedule is Sep 28–30, 2026 (Mon–Wed). You choose which time daily works best for you either 8:00–10:00 AM ET or 3:00–5:00 PM ET
Who teaches the course?
Ann Marvin, founder of Peacock Hill Consulting, leads this course. She brings more than 20 years of experience driving complex change in healthcare environments.
Does it earn a certification?
Not by itself. This course is the first step on the path toward the AIM Practitioner Certification, which carries a digital badge and includes ACMP QEP-aligned credits toward the CCMP.
How is this different from the AIM Practitioner Certification?
Introduction to Accelerating Implementation Methodology (AIM) focuses on the foundations and core principles. The AIM Practitioner Certification is the applied credential program where you demonstrate AIM skills through deeper practice and evaluation.
